Using Your Arms Correctly in the Golf Swing
WHEN YOU THINK of golf swing connection, it is more of the lead, or left arm for a right-handed golf. But the right arm definitely comes in towards the body (hip) in the downswing.
One thing I'm really seeing on tour, and am personally working on is learning how to use the arms in the golf swing. It seems the modern swing is a very connected, arms and torso together type of golf swing. I have found this makes it much easier to be consistent, and be able to go at it as hard as you want, and not hit it "off the planet" like an arms-only swing would.
I know for me, my left arm lefts my upper chest right away in the takeaway, and it needs to feel snug throughout most of the golf swing. The only spot it won't would be at the very top of your backswing, depending on if you have a higher arm plane, or flatter like Hogan had.
If you can think of swinging your arms is if the are a unit with your body, not independent, you'll be surprised how much power and consistency you have. It seems counter-intuitive, but it's not. Try throwing a punch with just your arm, then put your body into it. Which one is more powerful.
Putting a clubhead cover under both armpits and hitting partial shots will give you a really good feel for this type of golf swing. Once you learn how to use your arms in your golf swing, you will have loads of power, and be more consistent.
For some golfers, it can also be a feel of your shoulders controlling the swing, not your hands and arms. Your legs are your contact to the ground, providing a stable base, and your shoulders drive your swing. That doesn't mean over the top coming down, but it means your hands, arms and shoulders move with your torso (core) throughout your golf swing, not independently.
Try these easy actions and see if you start FEELING some CONNECTION and a better Golf Swing....

Looking For a Quick Tip For More Yards?
Do you need to know of the simplest ways to add lots of yards to your drives? Generate lag in golf swing is the answer. This is so SIMPLE you'll never need another golf lesson ever again.Do you know what lag is?Lag is when you are coming down in your golf swing and you hold the angle of your right wrist as long as you can going right in to impact. A player who does this effectively is Sergio Garcia. In the lovely 'ol days Ben Hogan had unbelievable lag way in to his downswing, and hit the ball a long way for a man of his little stature. The most common move for amateur golfers is to "throw the club" from the top together with your right wrist which is a immense power leak, and may cause a evil slice. When you hold this lag in your wrist you must turn your body through the shot or you will never get the club back to the ball. The ideal lag angle between the club and your arm is 90 degrees. Hold this as long as you can and you will notice an infusion of power and distance with every club in your bag.

Want Better Golf Without Having To Practice Alot?
If you're like me, you don't have a lot of time to practice golf. In fact, you would love to play better golf with no practice. How awesome would that be? No more pounding golf balls. Wasting your time and money at the range. That's what I'm talking about!
I know you think I'm crazy, but hear me out. There is an option to accomplish better golf, and I think I have it. Actually, I've been ready several very good golf improvement books that talk about this aspect, so I can't claim ownership of this.
Okay...you've heard 90% of golf is mental right? Great! So how about applying this to your better golf improvement program? So first off, you must have some knowledge of the golf swing for this to work. You need to know golf swing fundamentals, as well as you golf swing tendencies.
Once you have this knowledge, all you need to do is visualize AND "feel" the right moves you want to make in your golf swing. I'm dead serious. Throughout the day, I want you to visualize a proper golf swing. From start of takeaway to a balanced finish. How does it feel? Really get your mind to picture making a swing and "feeling" it.
Now repeat this over and over again, then...here's what I want you to do next.
Before EVERY shot when you're on the course, you're going to make the golf swing appropriate for the shot needed. Do it 2-3 times until it "FEELS" right. Then step up and hit it!
See what happens. I'll bet you if you take this approach serious, you will see improvement right away...with no practice!

Keep Your Clubface Square and Online For Consistency
GOLFERS ARE ALWAYS looking for golf swing consistency, and the main focus should be a square golf clubface at impact. Impact is the moment of truth. If your clubface is not square to the target line, the ball will go offline, most likely with sidespin creating missed fairways and ballooned scores.
The golf swing happens in less than 2 seconds, but you can train yourself to have an idea of where your clubface is at all times.
Golf Mirror Tip....
Make slow motion golf swings in a mirror. Get a face on view and a down the line view. Do this slow enough to be able to see where your clubface is throughout your golf swing. It will be an eye-opener for you.
If you can't get a square clubface at impact with a slow motion golf swing, you will never get one at full speed.
Address Golf Tip....
This one happened to me, and I am a 7 handicap golfer having studied the golf swing. My clubface was OPEN at address! Yes...I was shocked to say the least! I had been fight a thin, toe shot, that went weak and to the right. My golf pro modified my grip and squared up my face at address and INSTANTLY I was hitting the center of my clubface with solid compression and balls that flew straight down the fairway!
So next time you go to the range, the FIRST thing you should do is make absolute sure your CLUBFACE is square to your TARGET LINE before you make your golf swing KNOWING that your ball is going to "go" where your CLUBFACE is pointing...

Quick...Golf Slice Fixes To Cure Your Slice Golf Swing
THE MOST COMMON swing fault in golf is a slice. Learning simple golf slice fixes
is the approach to take to cure your slice fast and painlessly. So many golfers
struggle with this humiliating ball flight, and yet it's so easy to fix it,
it'll make you sick to your stomach.
The cause of a golf slice is either an "out-to-in" golf swing, or an open face at impact. There are many causes of either of these swing faults, but correcting them is easy.
If you're a slicer, then take a look at your grip. More than likely your left hand is in a weak position, which means it's more to your left when you look down at it.
To hit a draw, just bring your left hand over more to the right so you can see up to 3 knuckles of your left hand. This will encourage your clubface to close faster and easier through impact, giving your ball a draw spin.
A slicer has an upper body move with the right shoulder coming over the top which gets the clubshaft outside the target line, making it cut across the ball, giving it sidespin that makes it bend to the right.
When you start your downswing, think of your arms, hands and club dropping right away. This will encourage your right shoulder to go down and under, instead of over.
You'll soon be drawing the ball and getting more roll when it hits.
